What is Hacking? Types of Hacking

In this Blog I will not tell you how to hack ? but I will give some important information on hacking and its types and how to be safe from different types of hacking.

So,Hello friends.Let get started with the question what the hacking is?
As we are aware that nowadays all the works in offices,schools,universities done with the computers,digital devices etc.

Basically,Hacking is to identify the weakness in computer systems,different networks or finding loopholes in website coding and exploit its weakness to gain excess.
In Today's world we cannot think life about computer systems. So,it is important to take care of their security.
So,let us know about some types of hackers,there are main three types:-

1.White Hat Hacker - These types of hacker  are purely Ethical hacker, they identify the weaknesses in the computer and fix it so that the computer cannot be a prey for any hacking attack.

2.Black Hat Hacker - These types of hacker gains unauthorized access of computers of offices,big companies etc.for personal benefits and steal their data and demand for money to give access to them.

3.Grey Hat Hacker - They are some in between white hat hacker and black hat hacker.They gains unauthorized access to computers and target weakness of  a computer for fun.
Their intent is to bring the weakness to the attention of the owners and getting appreciation or a little bounty from the owners.

Although, there are some Miscellaneous hackers like Blue Hat Hacker, Green hat Hacker,Red Hat Hacker 

    

There are many types of hacking but I will tell you some common hacking attacks:

1.Phishing - It is a form of social engineering where a hacker tries to trick you into clicking a malicious link and can access your confidential information.Most of the data Breaches in the world are from this technique.

Proofpoint’s 2019 State of the Phish Report found that 83% of respondents experienced a phishing attack in 2018 (up from 76% in 2017), and Verizon’s 2019 Data Breach Investigations Report revealed that 32% of data breaches involved phishing. 

2.Ransomware - It is a type of malicious software designed to hack your data and hacker demands a amount to get your data back and there is not guarantee that he/she will give your data back safely.

The 2019 Official Annual Cyber crime Report predicts that a business will fall victim to a ransomware attack every 14 seconds in 2019, and every 11 seconds by 2021.

3.Computer Viruses - A computer virus is a type of malicious code or program written to alter the way a computer operates. Much like a flu virus, it is designed to spread from one computer to another (but without the user’s knowledge) by:

• Opening an infected email attachment
• Clicking an infected executable file
• Visiting an infected website
• Viewing an infected website advertisement
• Plugging in infected removable storage devices (e.g. USBs)

4.Attack vectors- Attack vectors are used to gain access to a computer or network in order to infect it with malware or harvest data.

How to Be Safe?

1.Back up your data and encrypt it.

2.Disable and Manage third party permissions

3.Always there should be a Anti Virus on your computer 

4.Keep your OS update when it get security update

5.Use Secure Browser

6.Always ensure that your passwords are strong
